I'm sorry this happened to you. I agree that it should be easier to report people on here. Thank you for spreading the word for others! Continue to stay safe and don't ever let anyone pressure you into sharing anything personal.
I appreciate this comment. I definitely feel like many apps, not just Substack, could do more to protect minors, but specifically here, a website that is seen as safe, I think it’s important to live up to that “better reputation” becuase at least on other platforms people are more aware.
This is such an important point. No one should have to go on a scavenger hunt to protect themselves. A visible report button is not just a feature—it’s a safety measure.

Thanks Ashante! I really appreciate your concern. I hope you stay safe as well! And thanks for reading and commenting.
You’re very welcome April! And yes, I will definitely stay safe on here.
Take care!
Substack needs to fix this. Yesterday.
Great post btw.
If a platform invites minors,
it inherits a duty.

I’m glad you spoke up about this and I’m so sorry you had to experience it.
Agreed 100%
There really is no way to be “safe” on the internet. Stand your ground.
Hi, sorry for responding so late! Thanks for restacking, and yeah, it is pretty weird.
